Kathleen Elizabeth Uttley – 1911-1976
Barney Cerka – unknown
Ralph H (Ted) Tucker – 1912-1992

Kathleen Elizabeth Uttley was born on December 8, 1911 in Copper Cliff. She was the second child and eldest daughter of William James Uttley and Katherine Stinson.

Kathleen married or lived common law with a man from the Larder Lake area and had a son Alvin John, known as Buddy, in 1929. From telegrams addressed to "Mrs Barney Circka", Larder Lake in 1936 and to "Mrs K. Cerka", Christy Street, Toronto in 1943, Buddy's father was Barney Cerka. Nothing further is known about Barney, but we do have pictures that are certainly him.

[Barney Cerka] [Young Kathleen]

The son died in 1935 at age six and is buried in Park Lawn Cemetery, Sudbury. In 1942 Kathleen wrote on the back of a picture of the headstone that this was her "oldest" which implies that she had other children.

  • This is presumed to be a picture of Alvin with his father. The unidentified locket photo came from Kathleen's jewellery box.
